Who I am

This website, nickellison.co.uk, is operated by Nick Ellison. I am the data controller for the personal data collected through this site. If you have any questions about how your data is handled, you can contact me at [email protected].

What data I collect

The only personal data collected through this site is what you voluntarily provide via the contact form:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Organisation (if provided)
  • Enquiry type and message content

Why I collect it

I use the information you submit through the contact form solely to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis for processing is legitimate interest: you have contacted me and reasonably expect a reply.

How data is stored

Contact form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, whose servers are located in the United States. Netlify acts as a data processor on my behalf. By submitting the contact form, your data is transferred to and stored in the US under Netlify's data processing terms.

How long I keep it

I retain contact form submissions for as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up correspondence, after which they are deleted. Netlify retains form submission data in accordance with their own retention policy.

External services

This site loads resources from the following third parties:

  • Netlify: this site is hosted on Netlify's infrastructure. Netlify may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) as part of hosting. See Netlify's privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics: this site uses Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregated usage data such as pages visited, referral sources, and approximate location (country/city level). Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique visitors. No data is shared with third parties for advertising purposes. See Google's privacy policy.

All fonts are self-hosted. No external font services are used.

Cookies

This site asks for your consent before setting any analytics cookies. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (prefixed _ga) to distinguish unique visitors and track session activity. These cookies expire after 14 months. If you reject or dismiss the cookie banner, no analytics cookies are set. Your preference is stored in your browser's local storage so you are not asked again. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, including pages visited, referral sources, and approximate geographic location. This data is used solely to improve the site and its content. IP anonymisation is enabled. No personal data is used for advertising or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
